How do you manage stress?
Apr 30, 2025
Life is hectic, the 'to-do' list is interminable and social pressures push us to do more, be more.
But life is what happens when we stop, when we allow our minds to wander and our feet to choose the path. Our horses recognise when we're struggling due to their ability to synchronise with our heart rate. If we're stressed, our heart rate and hormones change, horses find this uncomfortable to be around, they therefore often try to avoid us or show signs of irritability. So how do you manage your stress levels to be the most comfortable place for your horse and avoid burn out?
What fills your soul?
What gives you joy and enables you to be completely present? For me, it's the opportunity to be creative, in whatever form that takes. But for creativity to manifest, it needs space to grow, time to become its most beautiful conclusion. A walk through the forest, spending time relaxing with the herd, sitting by the sea, or watching the wildlife in the garden. Simple acts of acknowledgement that take us out of the chaos.
Give yourself time every day to breathe, wander (physically, mentally, or both), and just be.
Overwhelm doesn't help us achieve our life goals, so take a step away, go back to the source, and appreciate the awesomeness of you
